"Collaging Botryllus" is directed to children. By observing, drawing and collaging, we will gain an understanding of these beautiful and interesting creatures called Botryllus schlosseri. These little animals form colonies, and they are of extreme interest for science as they have a high capacity to regenerate their entire body. The way they grow and function is also very inspiring for drawing. In the spirit of joining both aspects of it we are organising this playful exercise.

"Collaging Botryllus" is an activity initiated by the artist Irene Kopelman, who is currently developing a project in collaboration with the research group lead by Stefano Tiozzo at the Laboratoire de Biologie du Développement de Villefranche / Institut de la Mer de Villefranche and the group lead by Eric Röttinger at the Institute for Research on Cancer and Aging in Nice. Funded by the Advanced Research Program at the Université Côte d'Azur, the project has been launched in collaboration with MAMAC (Musée d'art moderne et d’art contemporain) and the artworks produced during the project will be shared with the public in various and different formats at the Museum.
